Product Description

What is Custodian:

A custodian is an institution which holds assets in safekeeping for its clients and services these assets. The assets could be securities, commodities, or even physical assets. A custodian provides a secure and better equipped facility to house and service an asset than the asset’s owner can reasonably provide.

Why it is important:

Custodians are responsible for the possession and control of their clients’ assets. The custodian will typically register assets in electronic format in the beneficial owner’s name or the nominee name (custodial name). For physical assets, such as precious metals, ownership may be maintained at the custodial level.
